About Me

I was born and raised in the South East of England, which is where I call home. My parents came some miles to be here. In his twenties my father came to live down here from the Welsh border. My mother journeyed from the Caribbean to the UK when she was a child - revealing my multicultural heritage.

Our family setup changed down the line, my mother and father found new partners which brought new influences on my upbringing and life. A cliché some might say, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Talking of the world, I got a strong urge in my early teens to one day live and work abroad. Five or six years on I did exactly that: I spent a year in Australia and have gone on to visit countries in every continent apart of the Antarctic!

My most recent travels have taken me to Dubai, Turkey and Portugal – heading off to a new country not only excites me it gives me a heightened sense of freedom.

Somewhere along the way, I began to really enjoy learning and self development unlike my school years. The studies that emerged from that new-found love, which stand out as having significantly impacted where I’m and how I’m fulfilled today, is my training with the Life Coaching Academy London - I passed that diploma with merit.

Becoming qualified with the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD) is another achievement I’m proud of. Over time, it’s opened doors to work I truly enjoy, which is  rolling out training for organisations across the UK and internationally in the private and public sectors.

But let me tell you, the path to finding my thing was turbulent. I have been met with many cross-roads not knowing which way to go. At times, it felt soul-destroying—like playing a life-sized version of Snakes and Ladders. Just when I thought I was making progress, along came a snake, and I’d find myself back at square numero uno. Picking myself up after each setback was tough, but through it I showed guts, grit and graciousness. With the love, support, and encouragement of those around me, I kept moving forward.

Living with cerebral palsy and being neurodiverse has added to the challenges. For a long time, I tried to be the proverbial fish climbing a tree, pushing myself to fit into roles that just didn’t align with how I’m wired. It wasn’t easy, but eventually, I succumbed to self-acceptance. By understanding who I was, my strengths and embracing what truly brings me joy, I found my way to a life and work that feels fulfilling and authentic.

Ah, you might also like to know that I’m a spirited cook in the kitchen usually to the beats of a track from one of my many playlists in Spotify. I love a podcast and enjoy time with my nearest and dearest as well as moments in my own company.

From one work in progress to another, thank you for taking the time to get to know me better.
